EY ECONOMIC EYE
Graphic, print and working experience design, EY, 2019
Economic Eye is a periodical publication detailing economic forecasts for the Island of Ireland, particularly emerging competitiveness challenges. It also reviews progress on the uncertain Brexit journey and the need to use scenarios in business planning.
Challenges of dealing with fluid and changing content under a particularly tight deadline meant the demands of this project was not confined to the production of a customised high-end publication, but to rethink and redesign the engagement, working and communication experience between major stakeholders, project and design teams.
The initial step of the project involved a deep dive creative briefing session lead by Senior Designers, which focused on the investigation and analysis of the previous experiences building the publication from stakeholder, project and design team perspectives.
Next, a strategy was developed encompassing the wants and needs of the project team and design team as a whole. The particular solution required was the development of a customised process framework that would provide a logical step-by-step approach, which was as transparent and effective as possible.

I created a customised template tailored to the specific needs of the team in advance, allowing for the challenges of the constantly changing information and the time critical demands later in the project. I developed an accompanying guide to word counts and graphic placements ensured all parties had a clear understanding of the opportunities and restraints of the design whilst building their content.
